Welcome To The Academy
It all began in late 2016…
…the first “official day” was December 1st, 2016 — but by that time there were already a handful of state & national youth athletes being coached
One was about to win a Gold Medal for Australia in Gymnastics
Some would go on to become Newcastle Jets FC Youth Players
One would go on to receive 40+ Div I and Div II Collegiate Scholarships to play American Football
And many more State & National Youth Athletes would enter The Academy’s doors
And over the next 4 years — 10,000+ youths would be guided, supported, and lives changed forever
Local + State Youth Sporting Organisations, High Schools, Primary Schools, and more would reach out to receive guidance and support for their athletes and students
Two things remained constant:
- Human first, athlete/student second
- Mental & Emotional > Physical
See, despite the societal beliefs and conditioning, there was a truth held deep within The Academy’s belief system…
…whether it was sporting excellence or academic excellence that was being chased — it wasn’t about anything external such as sporting skills or study behaviors
The sole factor for success in any endeavor was internal. It was an inside job
Develop the internal state — watch the external world change and goals become realities
Between 2016 and 2020— The Youth Academy supported its students to:
- Won Gold Medals for Australia
- Received Collegiate Scholarships
- Made Australian National Teams & State Teams
- Transitioned into University Degree’s of their choosing
- Overcome anorexia, depression, and mental health challenges
- Develop resilience, confidence and discover clarity
- Find their True Selves
- Become better humans
3 months prior to COVID unleashing itself upon the world, The Academy made a transition into a new facility. They were building a Youth Development Centre that would be The Centre of Youth Development, Worldwide
Their facility would house a state-of-the-art S&C Centre, Cafe, Library, and more — all to support the youth with their development as humans
COVID saw The Academy lose 80% of revenue overnight, and they were forced to close for 7 months — placing them in an impossible situation to exit due to the financial side of the equation
On December 31st, 2020 — they regrettably had to close their doors for good (*or so we all thought)
For 12 months now, their Founder, Nico Maier — has been searching for a way to continue building The Youth Academy’s legacy & work in the world…
…and NFT’s have provided that opportunity

About The Team
Born and bred in Newcastle, Australia — Nico was an overweight and borderline obese child who was challenged by his weight for his entire childhood and adolescent years
A sports fanatic, he was blessed to be naturally gifted at most sports — seeing success in everything he tried — and he tried them all…
…soccer, cricket, tennis, field hockey, basketball, netball, swimming, baseball
Sport was his one true love
He was blessed to represent his local city in cricket and his state of NSW in Baseball — receiving the opportunity at the age of 15, in 2005 to travel to Florida for a training camp with the then Major League Baseball Team — the Florida Marlins
It was here that Nico realised he didn’t have the skills, nor the drive to achieve his goal to one day play in the MLB… a truth that shattered his world
He returned to Australia and proceeded to lose 40kg’s over a few months — spiraling into a battle with anorexia, orthorexia, depression, and suicidal thoughts for the next 24 months
Coming out the other side, still, lost and unawares — and enrolled to study Nutrition & Dietetics & become a Sports Dietitian. This journey began in 2008 and ended in 2007…
…there are more fails on his University Transcript than he cares to admit. Why? Because this line of work wasn’t for him — and his effort and application showed that
After a brief stint in Europe that saw him run away from reality in 2013 — Nico found his True Self. He returned to Australia committed to getting into the health & fitness industry; finishing his Nutrition & Dietetics Degree and excelling in all Strength & Conditioning certifications
The rest, as they say, is history…
The Youth Academy was born and went on to impact the lives of 10,000+ youth

Nico is currently building out the rest of the core team; hand-selecting world-class coaches who specialize in a variety of areas from Nutrition, Mental Performance, and Emotional Regulation to Language & Identity Creation
